Great day at one of my “favorite” places… even better, spending someone else’s money!
Yep, Tracy bought a NEW Trek bike at Village Cycle Center today!!! WHOO-HOO!!!

Great day at one of my “favorite” places… even better, spending someone else’s money!
Yep, Tracy bought a NEW Trek bike at Village Cycle Center today!!! WHOO-HOO!!!

Simple mosaic in the underground Jackson “L” Station
on my way home from the Shamrock Shuffle.

And then a not-so-simple mosaic ceiling in the atrium dome of Marshall Field’s…
err, I guess we’re supposed to call it Macy’s now?!

Yesterday was “Fun Day Sunday” while my kiln was cooling. It started with the annual Shamrock Shuffle running through the streets of Downtown Chicago with Tracy, Michelle and about 40,000 of my “closest friends.” It was a bit cold at 28-dregrees & windy when we started…. at least the sun was shining on us.

And the Shamrock “aftermath” when I got home…

Well, Winter is officially over… and it looks like we’ve moved right into Chicago’s “other” season! Ha!!!

A bit dreary downtown today. It can’t quite decide if it wants to rain or snow?!

Another wonderful day with beautiful blue skies
as far as the eye could see. Happy Sunny Sunday… pedal on!!!

Followed later in the day with ice cream with my sister Jen and niece Taylor!
First you work it off… and then…

A fun “photo shoot” time at the Peoples Gas Education Pavilion just south of the Zoo. The sun was at just the right place to illuminate the amazing structure. Timing is everything… and a cool structure sure helps too!

It was a beautiful day today. Blue skies as far as you can see. A bit windy, perhaps even gusty… but it felt SO great to get out to play along the Lakefront today. A real gift towards the end of February!

Last night I went to the Opening Reception for PRISMATICA… the latest art installation at Navy Pier. Large colorful prisms that illuminate and make tinkling sounds as they rotate. The dichroic finish creates ever-changing colors that splash across the park. A bright spot on a long & dreary Winters day.

Here we go again… another quick trip to New York City!
Unfortunately, this one’s not really long enough to see much. Just a few hours in The Big Apple for a meeting. So it’s an early morning flight followed by an evening flight home… and a tiny bit of New York fun in between!

Blue skies flying high above the clouds…

Arriving in New York is always fun…
flying in over the East River and seeing the skyline & bridges!

After a couple hours of fun in New York… err, meetings, etc…. it was back to LaGuardia for an evening flight home. And the way I look at it… another great nap on the flight home! I’m one of those “lucky ones’ who loves sleeping on airplanes – and can fall asleep before take-off and wake-up when the wheels touch down again!

And I just love flying home at sunset…
so it was a great reason to stay awake during take-off and a few minutes into the flight.
So beautiful to catch the New York skyline at just the right time… sunset skyline silhouettes!!!
And more of the city, the buildings, the bridges and a fond farewell to The Big Apple.

But what’s better than a sunset flight?…
Flying over the city you love and seeing it all illuminated like this. A beautiful, sparkling scene that is rarely seen… until this moment happens… and I just happened to wake up in time to see this spectacular sight!

Notice the circle of lights at the bottom of the photo above. Look closely and you might figure out that it is a circle of lights that go around the Adler Planetarium and Museum Campus.
