After last night’s storms, I rolled out of bed this morning to cloudy skies… and considered crawling back into bed! Instead I hopped on my bike for a beautifully breezy & cloud-covered morning. There were moments of sunrise optimism where I thought “maybe” the sun would pop through and brighten the skies with color. But apparently not… just clouds. Very cool clouds… but clouds nonetheless!

A quiet start to the day. Simple clouds with a slight breeze. A beautiful day beginning, with rain predicted for later in the day… get out to enjoy the day while you can!

Clear skies finally prevailed. After yesterday’s storms, it was great to wake this morning to dry roads & lightly clouded skies. A bit breezy, but beautiful nonetheless.

Looks like someones DIVVY bike went for a swim… and didn’t make it out for awhile?! Always fun when they come around and start fishing out the bikes that have been “deposited” into the Lake… and there are always more than you think!

A few moments of pastel sunrise colors… and then back to gray. An other quiet morning pedaling along the lakefront. Happy to have some color back in the sunrise sky… even if it was short-lived.

It was a dark & moody start to the day… with a lot of sunrise potential. I was really hoping for some dramatic sunrise colors this morning… but instead I just got clouds. And I as I pedaled towards the City, you could see a bunch of dark rain clouds moving in!!! Abort!!!… turn around and pedal back FAST!!! Luckily, the rain seemed to stay south of the City and I made it home dry! Sweaty, but dry!

Rippled reflections on another quiet morning along the lake. With a heavy layer of “clouds” along the horizon, the sunrise was delayed a bit… but well worth the wait!

Quiet colors. Pastoral pastels. Shrouded sunrise. Not really sure if it’s clouds or smoke from the Canadian wildfires still? But either way, it made for another dramatic start to my day. I’ll take it.

No sun. No sunrise. Another monochromatic morning along the lakefront. It had some good potential, but the clouds never lit up!

Another quiet morning along the lake. The waves were rolling in as the sun was rising slowly through a hazy layer of clouds… err, maybe some of the “smoke” on the horizon from the Canadian wildfires? Not quite as crazy as what New York is experiencing… but it made for a cool red sunrise nonetheless.
