So I got a quick sneak peek at some more of the collaboration pieces that Amy Taylor has been working on with whimsical clay body parts by Cory McCrory & wood-turned pieces by Ken Skaggs. Can’t wait to see them for the big final reveal at ART IN THE GARDEN this weekend in Glenview!!!

With my collaboration shakers coming together nicely, it was time to finish them off with some colorful flashing slips and underglazes. Since Cory McCrory’s work is so bright & whimsical, I kinda felt I had to brighten my color palette. Up my game a bit. Fingers crossed that some of these bright underglazes work well in the soda firing!!! We’ll find out tomorrow night when I unload the kiln… and then Saturday morning when they are “revealed” at ART IN THE GARDEN.

Bringing a splash of brilliant color to Amy’s already colorful garden is newcomer Jillian Hentschel. Her outrageously colorful work will be a great addition to ART IN THE GARDEN next weekend. We all hope you can stop by to join us for a great day in the garden!

This is the first year we’ve had a master woodworker joining us at ART IN THE GARDEN. Ken Staggs is joining us in the garden to show off his works made with a wide range of woods, each with a great story to go with the hand-turned piece!

Colorful stained glass made with vintage glass, classic dishes and a great design style by Retta Hentschel. Returning for another year at ART IN THE GARDEN with lamps, windows, panels and garden stakes… you’ll need to stop by Glenview to see these pieces really shine in sunlight.
