It was so nice to finally get outside to an art fair today!
So good to fly my flag. To show off my pottery.
To sell some pottery. To see them off to a good home.
To see so many friends & customers again. To see so many MASKS!!!

The HINSDALE FINE ARTS FESTIVAL today was my first outdoor fair since the pandemic cancelled & postponed everything! A small sense of “normal”… along with proper precautions, social-distancing & hand disinfecting! And we get to do it all over again tomorrow! We’re in Hinsdale again tomorrow from 10:00an-5:00pm in Booth #48.

C’mon by… I would love to see you… and your MASK!!!

My car was a packed up this morning for an early set-up at the Hinsdale art fair! It was like a tough game of “auto & crate” Tetris! I’m pretty sure I could NOT have fit even one more thing in my car… oh wait, I see a small spot between those two white boxes!!!

How did I miss that???… oh, the things I could have stuck in there!!!

Just a quick reminder… this weekend is my very first outdoor art fair of 2020!!! All art fairs were quickly cancelled or postponed when the pandemic moved in. The folks in Hinsdale postponed from June to August… and have since come up with a full “covid-safety plan”! Fewer booths, tons of space between tents, single direction sidewalks, face masks, hand sanitizer and so much more!

Saturday, August 15th & Sunday, August 16th : 10:00am-5:00pm

We’re all hoping that things go smoothly as this is my first “test” of outdoor art fairs during the pandemic! I hope you consider coming… with your FACE MASK!!! I would love to see everyone… even if it is just eyes, ears & foreheads!!!

Looks like our mosaic artist is up to something cool. I sent Kristin Conneely a bunch of my soda-fired beads to play with… and she is!!! I can’t wait to see what kind of final collaboration pieces she comes up with for ART IN THE GARDEN! These collaborations are one of the things that makes ART IN THE GARDEN so much fun… and there are several different ones in the works! Can’t wait to see them all in person the last weekend of August in Glenview!

Please disregard the missing word on Kristin’s post…
too many beads, not enough words… HA!!!!

Looks like Retta Hentschel is getting ready to have some fun with my lidded jars! Making magic happen as only she can… getting ready for ART IN THE GARDEN. These unique collaboration projects are one of the many things that make this art fair so special… August 29th & 30th in Glenview!

For more information… and some more pretty pictures…
here’s your OFFICIAL INVITATION!!!

Well, my part of these collaboration pieces are soda-fired & done… and I’ve got five of My Talented Friends who’ve agreed to collaborate with them for ART IN THE GARDEN. Amy, Cory, Ken, Kristin & Retta will all be working “their magic” with them as special one-of-a-kind collaborations only for this special grassroots art show!

More to come I’m sure…
as I can’t wait to see what each of them do to finish off my lidded jars!

Looks like Cory was busy in her studio yesterday working on some of the parts of our collaboration project for ART IN THE GARDEN. We’re each making pieces that will “somehow” come together for the big reveal the last weekend of August in Glenview for our grassroots art fair!

Mark your calendars… we’re going for out first outdoor art fair next weekend – HINSDALE FINE ARTS SHOW August 15th & 16th.

The Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce has developed a full “covid-plan” to keep everyone safe as we’re venturing into uncharted territory! Well-spaced booths, plenty of social-distancing, masks & disinfecting. I will be back in my usual booth space with lots of pots & lots of safety precautions. I look forward to seeing all of my friends & followers who have locked-down and need a good reason to come outside to see some art. I would love to see everyone… even if it is just from the mask on up!!!

Very exciting to see that one of my fellow ART IN THE GARDEN artists is already planning his part of the collaboration! Woodworker Ken Staggs busy at work on his first “prototype” idea!

Here’s a sneak peek at what my “cohort in collaborations” has been up to … looks like Cory McCrory has been working on our newest collaboration for this year’s ART IN THE GARDEN. Each year we do a special project together just for this one special art fair in Glenview! I’m sure there will be more photos to come… but for now it looks like Cory is keeping her secret project pieces “under wraps”!!!
