While the Schaumburg Prairie Arts Festival was washed out today, at least my booth flowers still look good! And as things would have it, about an hour after I got home, the rain stopped & the sun came out with blue skies & fluffy white clouds!!!

Let me just say we were washed out!!! Some people packed up first thing this morning. While some of us troopers decided to hunker down, wait out the rain & hope for better weather after the storm passed. But alas… with thunder & lightning, the organizers called it off. Luckily, there wasn’t much wind so we all felt safe & soggy as we packed up our displays & tents in the rain. Home early… and draping my tent parts all over the place so they can dry before packing them up for next weekend in Hinsdale!

A pretty moody & dramatic morning along the lakefront. Beautiful saturated colors with golden reflections shimmering on the waves. A great way to start the morning before heading back to Schaumburg for Day Two of the PRAIRIE ARTS FESTIVAL. Yesterday was full of beautiful blue skies… this morning is starting with clouds, and the forecast seems to get worse throughout the day. Good thing pottery looks good when it’s wet… because it seems like we might be getting some rain later this afternoon. So come out to Schaumburg and say “Hi” if you see me hunkered down in my tent!!!

Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL Saturday to be in the park… as it was also Day One of the Schaumburg Prairie Arts Festival. Amazing weather all day… and I wasn’t kidding about the swans!!! Such a great day to play in the park, chat with a bunch or pottery lovers & see some pots go off to their new homes!!!

Prepping, pricing & packing a new selection of stamped & soda-fired mugs in the basement. Fresh mugs for this weekend’s art fair in Hinsdale… hope to see you there!

Staying one step ahead… not just making pots, but also designing a new postcard for ART IN THE GARDEN – coming later this summer in September. We artists have to make art… but these days we need to do our own marketing too!!!

Kicking off my “official” summer art fair season this weekend in Schaumburg… in a beautiful park with a pond & swans!!! Sure, there will be lots of great art & pottery too! Be sure to stop this Saturday or Sunday. Hope to see you there!!!

Getting ready for day two of our PLANTS & POTTERY SALE. If you’re in Central Illinois, swing by to see their incredible terraced gardens, hundreds of flowers, one of my totem poles… and quite possibly leave with some plants & pottery of your own! Today from 9:00am-4:00pm in Bartonville… just southwest of Peoria!

Always fun to have a fellow potter return to our PLANTS & POTTERY POP-UP SALE! I met Sadie down here last year… and this year she brought some more pottery-loving friends!!! A trifecta of stamped & soda-fired pots for the three of them!!!

It was a great weekend getaway… surrounded by a LOT of great pottery, beautiful scenery, good friends & yummy snacks! What’s not to like?! I love going up to the Minnesota Pottery Tour every year. So much to see… so many photos & stories to share… more coming soon!
