Summer Camp with a younger group : 8-10 year olds… wheelthrowing on Monday & Tuesday, trimming & handles on Wednesday, handbilding (sp) on Thursday… and then slip painting on Friday! This group was a lot of fun… especially on Thursday when we tackled textured mugs. They threw their own slabs by hand with no rolling pins or slab rollers! Then they pressed in a texture & constructed their own mugs all by themselves! Amazing work!

A lot of clouds this morning… enough that I was questioning if were even going to see the sun at all this morning? And we did… flying low & showing off in crazy colors! But only for a few minutes… and then back behind the clouds!

Hanging out in the studio tonight painting colored flashing slip accents on a bunch of mini’s… and watching the Olympic Opening Ceremonies in Paris! The pomp & circumstance… the performances… the theatricality of it all… oh, and the athletes too.

The Opening Ceremonies are always my favorite part of The Olympics…
what are you looking forward to most???

Not only did I have great kids making great pots this week at summer camp…
but I also had Eva who made me this amazing little origami dragon from a single sheet of paper!!

Another great week of Summer Camp done! This week I had 10-13 year olds throwing on the wheel… two groups, morning camp & afternoon camp. Lots of dirty hands, lots of pots, lots of giggles!

Celebrating another Floral Friday… with my Glenview art fair booth flowers from last weekend that are still holding up really well. And looking great in an oval vase that “spreads them out” a bit more so you can see more flowers!!!

Another quiet morning without a lot of sunrise drama.
Just a few simple clouds floating quietly along the horizon.

After a full day of Summer Camp… followed by an evening in my studio… I felt that I “deserved” to celebrate NATIONAL HOT FUDGE SUNDAE DAY when I got home!!! … burp.

With gently breezes blowing in off the lake, the clouds were spotty
& catching the colors nicely as the sun continued to rise

Kristy sent me a picture of her breakfast this morning… some vibrant fresh tabbouleh salad. Not my first choice for “breakfast”… un, waffles?!… but it does look pretty yummy in a fun stamped aubergine bowl. Thanks for the photo Kristy!
