You know you’ve gotten a “good amount” of rain lately when you LITERALLY have cattails growing in the curb-gutter of the city streets?! Too funny… and oddly, I LOVE this!!!
While leaves are falling all around us, sometimes you can still find one of those “perfect” trees in full color with the leaves still hanging on!!! C’mon, give us at least one more beautiful weekend before they all fall off!
So now the stamps have their inlaid glazed… and a liner glaze too! The outside stays basically unglazed as the soda-firing process will finish & “glaze” the outsides for me! Now to start wadding all of them…
Filling all of my stamped impressions with a dark tenmoku glaze. And then wiping away the top surface leaving glaze only in the indentations. Sure, it’s a lot of work, but he darker inlaid glaze always seems to make my stamped patterns “pop” more!
Lots of mugs… looks like I’ve got a LOT of glazing to get done tonight!!! ugh… definitely not my favorite part of the process!
While today we should all be celebrating NATIONAL PUMPKIN DAY… I might be so bold as to say that I’m more of fan of the under-rated gourd! Better colors, groovy textures & whimsical shapes!!! Long live the gourd… and when do we get a National Gourd Day?!
Another spooky trio on a chilly Fall afternoon.
Smirky smiles & whimsical ghouls! Thanks for sharing Kelly!
More Fall flowers hanging in there… loving these little “floral firework explosions” of purple asters in my side garden.
After this weekend’s incredible weather, it almost seems like we’re having a little resurgence of flowers. Just when we thought they were done blooming… but so pleased they’re NOT!!!
Colored flashing slip applied… mugs are done for the night!
Just in time to teach class downstairs tonight. So now they can start drying before they go into my bisque kiln… hurry up, dry… dry… dry!!!
