Trapped air inside a piece WILL explode if there’s not an escape hole!

When I was assembling my ART IN THE GARDEN collaboration wall vases, I apparently neglected to add escape holes on the bottom half of this vase. And voila’… shattered during the firing – blew right off! Just proving the theory… as it happens to all of us at some point! Good thing I made a couple extras…

Okay, so the garden might be a little wet… but ART IN THE GARDEN is still open today until 5:00pm! C’mon by to see some art, chat with the artists & maybe do a little shopping!! And maybe bring an umbrella…

A huge THANKS to everyone who came out for ART IN THE GARDEN yesterday. We had a great time in Amy’s idyllic garden with beautiful weather all day. Such a great setting for a wonderful show. The weather forecast for today does not seem quite so ideal… but we will still be out there from 10:00am-5:00pm so c’mon by with your umbrella! I mean, pottery only looks better when it’s wet!!!

Stopped by the local Farmers Market to pick-up some beautiful flowers for my art fair booth this weekend. You know I love a beautiful dahlia with such great structure, texture, repetition of petals & colors! Can’t wait to show them off in some of my pottery this weekend at ART IN THE GARDEN… cuz’ you need flowers in a garden, right?!

And huge thanks to the folks from Vangies Farm for coming to the Farmers market to share their flowers… while watching them pull together beautiful arrangements & bouquets right there on the spot!

Out of the soda kiln & headed to The Garden! Some of these precious pumpkins will be coming to ART IN THE GARDEN this weekend to jump-start the Fall season… and more will be headed to ART IN THE BARN in two weeks!! Plenty of pumpkins for both shows!!!

You know they’re my favorite thing to make… so of course I’ll have PLENTY of stamped & soda-fired mugs at ART IN THE GARDEN this weekend. Guaranteed to make your morning coffee or tea taste so much better!

But then again, not everyone loves purple… so there will also be a couple stamped plates & platters in other fun colors at ART IN THE GARDEN too! Remember, homemade food always tastes better on handmade pottery!

For all you “Purple Lovers” out there… there’s only ONE of these large stamped platters in purple for ART IN THE GARDEN this weekend. No pre-sales, no calling dibs… we’re just going old-school with first-come, first-served. You might want to come early tomorrow if you really love purple?!!!

Looks like Cory McCrory is in the final stretches with our collaboration project. Just putting some finishing touches, staining, sealing & assembling all of the parts & pieces… before se starts choosing the “perfect” trio of flowers for each of the wall vases that I made. Another wonderful collaboration project with Cory coming together in the nick of time for ART IN THE GARDEN this weekend!

Fresh out of the soda kiln, these little cuties will be coming to ART IN THE GARDEN and ART IN THE BARN. Not really an “official” addition to The Ghouls Collection… but they would definitely fit right in! A new soda-fired version of my terra cotta classic pumpkins!
