Okay, so we decided to “celebrate†today’s holiday with an afternoon break to play with some Magic Eye images… I mean, it is NATIONAL HAVE FUN AT WORK DAY after all. Remember the visual fun from the ‘90s where a 3D images appears if you stare at the picture long enough?! I love these!!!It was Scott’s first time trying… and honestly, he wasn’t so good at it. He only saw one! I found them all… but now my eyes feel a little crossed!!!
Winter moments captured in snow.
Loving a good morning snowfall… powdered & pretty.
Just got home late from teaching my THROWDOWN pottery class… but didn’t want to miss out on celebrating another national holiday!!! You know how I LOVE a good holiday… and a good piece of chocolate cake… or two?!!!
So last night we tried the newest OREO flavor… and LOVED it! Our only question was “why did we put up with the plain white ones for so long when we shoulda had these?! Yummy… and gone… and looking for more!!!
Stamping another large platter for another Texture Tuesday! With just two handmade stamps doing all of the hard work. One-by-one pressed in while the clay is leatherhard… creating a groovy textured pattern for the glaze to play with later!
Last session, my friend & fellow teacher Chelsea was doing a class on different glazing techniques. And I “just happened” to have this large un-stamped & un-glazed vase on my teacher’s shelf… leftover from my Surface Decoration class almost a year ago! Good intentions for a good demo… but I never quite got around to it in class… don’t judge!
So I offered it up for Chelsea to play with as one of her class demos! Everyone knows that glazing is my least favorite step of the process… so if someone else volunteers, I’m all in! And she did an amazing job with several different glazes & techniques all playing well together! Thanks Chelsea… you can glaze more of my stuff any time!!!
Rolling textures & patterns onto some thin slabs using my MKM Pottery Tools … press & roll smoothly to get some impressive details. The real question though… what to make out of these textured slabs now?!
Gotta LOVE some good textures… and these amazing wooden hand rollers come from MKM Pottery Tools. I have quite a collection, making great impressions for some slab projects I’ve been working on lately in the studio!
Looks like a yummy way to start a snowy Sunday morning down in Central Illinois. Thanks for sharing your breakfast Gerry & Rosene!
