Celebrating with LOTS of mugs… my new “wheelthrown-handbuilt-combo” mugs with some fun textures all around! Drying now… as they’ve all been dipped in some soda flashing slips. So when they finally get fired in my next soda kiln, they should get some fun colors & dramatic flashing effects!

With some cool weather over the past couple days, it seems like the spring flowers are hanging on a bit longer than normal… like these beautiful azaleas that have been blooming for a couple weeks now!

And still looking good!

With one big cloud moving in, we had a small window of opportunity for a bit of a sunrise this morning… and we got it. Not as pretty as yesterday, but a lot more dramatic! Yet all too soon, the sun went behind the clouds… not to be seen again!

So I finished up another batch of stamped mugs tonight… adding the handles in “a bit of a rush” so I could skip out early for some evening ice cream fun with friends!!! Feels good to have the mugs done & under plastic overnight… feels even better to have had my fill of Lickity Split frozen custard!!!

Sure, smooth was nice…
but now they look a LOT BETTER after a bit of stamping!!!

Who says the wheel only makes circular pots?!
Not me.

It felt a little warmer this morning as the clouds were gently drifting across the sky. Quiet & serene as the sun beautifully worked its way above the horizon and into the clouds.

Turns out the night-time shadows were created by the flowering crabapple tree on the corner by Lillstreet. Apparently the clear skies & moonlight, along with the streetlight, were bright enough to illuminate these flowers for an evening “photo shoot” of some beautiful & fragrant spring blossoms.

Leaving the studio late tonight after a very productive evening. And as I was walking away I was struck by the leafy patterns shadowed on the sidewalk. You don’t always get to see great shadows like these when it’s dark outside!!!

A new show has popped up in the Lillstreet Gallery Annex on the second floor. Sculptural works by one of the new Artists-In-Residence… Corran Shrimpton. I was struck by this piece as it was the first one to show-up in the gallery space. Striking & powerful… as she reaches for the chalk eraser!
