For today’s class demo, we tackled throwing larger platters! Of course I showed my students my “typical” platter with a flat flared-out flange area which ideal for stamping!!!

But then I was “challenged” to do another one with a smoother curve and no delineation between food surface and… I don’t know… the curved “rim” area? The second big challenge might be “where & how” do I stamp this new shape??? Can’t wait to find out…

And now for some more SNOW!!! With a beautiful “lace” build-up of ice on a broken screen outside the studio windows. The tree branches outside have done a number on the screen… but the icy snow made it pretty!

A big morning sunrise along the lake… lots of “glaciers & icebergs” along the lakefront! Big sky mornings require BIG panoramic photos… especially if you still want to get the skyline in the photo!!!

With a prediction of more snow today, I thought I “needed” to get out this morning before the snow! With a beautiful morning hike along the frozen lakefront and a BEAUTIFUL sunrise splash of color before it went behind the clouds… seemingly for the rest of the day!

My cousin David was proudly showing off his blooming amaryllis today! The flowers are GORGEOUS… and I’m “sure” that it’s all due to the “semi-vintage” flowerpot I made for him several years ago! You can see it better if you reverse the calendar a bit to when the bulb was just starting to sprout! Okay, so “maybe” his green thumb helped a bit too?!

With all the snow outside & piling up my windows, it’s nice to see that my orchids are getting ready to bloom again! These three re-bloomed for me last Spring, so I’m kinda surprised they’re going to bloom again for me?! Especially because I don’t do anything special for them… they’re lucky if they get splashed with water once in awhile!!!

Sure, I probably could have thrown these gourds away off my back porch months ago! But I just couldn’t because they look so cool… and I was hoping to plant the seeds this spring. Didn’t plan on them getting covered with snow though!!!

We might have blue skies & plenty of sun now…
but the snow isn’t melting anytime soon!
