After Monday night’s class demo with a power drill… yesterday I cleaned-up the insides of my new berry bowls. The drill is quick & clean, but it leaves these burrs hanging out inside. The good thing is that when they dry up a bit, they simply brush away easily. I also take a green scrub pad to smooth out any edges, and then use a wooden tool to refine any of the holes that need some smoothing.
More natural textures still dusted with a bit of snow
at Lillstreet Art Center… perfect for a little Texture Tuesday!
I love when the freshly-fallen snow sticks to every branch & fence… covering the City in a beautiful blanket of white. Typically it disappears pretty quick… but NOT today! It’s still a Winter Wonderland out there!!!
After my class demo last night, Christine stepped up to give it a try. She “struggled” a bit with the spontaneity of it all… not having a plan as she picked up the drill. But my MKM Decorating Discs helped with new “insta-plan” as she pulled the trigger on the power drill.
Last night in our pottery class we tackled drilling holes in some berry bowls… and what better way than with a POWER DRILL?! Who doesn’t like mixing pottery & power tools???
It’s a beautiful snow-covered day in Chicago! Looking out my kitchen window to see my back porch “curtain” of rusty gears under a new blanket of snow! A good day to go hiking through the snow… or to curl up under a blanket on the sofa! Either way, enjoy the snowy day!!!
Just finishing up another batch of mugs before teaching class tonight. These are the new mugs with the NEW STAMPS!!! Pretty excited to move them along through the process so I can see them glazed & finished. Not sure I can wait… so there’s a “pretty good chance” I’ll be making more before we see these results!
With a “Winter Snow Advisory” in effect… it looks like my cousin Kim is getting ready to hunker down for a few days with a crock pot full of hot homemade soup… and a pretty blue bowl!!!
What an ADORABLE way to start my day!
With an “adorable” preschool teacher (and an “adorable” assistant) reading a book to her class kids on a YouTube video! She reads “Bear Snores On”… and talks about drinking warm beverages when it’s cold outside. Then she shows off some of her favorite mugs… and lookey there… MINE is one of them!!! Thanks for sharing Jody…. and great story too!!!
Perfect timing for another MUGSHOT MONDAY!!!
But my favorite part is that she holds up the bottom of my mug to show the preschoolers my name… upside-down and CURSIVE!!! Like they even know what cursive is… them or thousands of other school kids these days!!! Ha!!!
Click here for the link to the YouTube video if you want to watch “Miss Jody” read the bok and show -off some of her favorite mugs!!!
