So now I’m focused on my parts of the collaboration projects we have planned for ART IN THE GARDEN. Right now I’m making lids… can’t totally tell you why quite yet… but that’s part of the fun of our collaborations…

So now I’m focused on my parts of the collaboration projects we have planned for ART IN THE GARDEN. Right now I’m making lids… can’t totally tell you why quite yet… but that’s part of the fun of our collaborations…
TEASERS!!!
Just a few homes down the street from my condo there is this wonderful collection of lilies blooming in the front yard. Such an AMAZING collection of lilies all blooming at the same time… so many colors, so many textures and the aroma is perfectly overwhelming! Whoever is growing these… thank you from the entire neighborhood!!!
Looks like my back porch purple hyacinth bean vine is filling in nicely… weaving through my curtain of rusty gears. We should be seeing flowers in the next couple weeks!!!
After the quick thunderstorm that just blew through, these red lilies look even better with some raindrops lingering on the petals.
Digging through my inventory of handmade & soda-fired beads… thinking their might be a “collaboration” or two in here??? ART IN THE GARDEN is coming quick… gotta get my act together so my friends have time to get their parts done too!
Fresh from the kiln. Fresh from the garden.
Thanks to Adam & Kristin for the yummy tomatoes to fill my cute little green bowl with a split-rim and dented-details!
So apparently I touched my face… err, my mask… a bit more than normal in class this morning?! I think it might have been when I had to pop it off for a second when I showed them how to blow into a bottle to “inflate†and enlarge it a bit.
And did anybody notice how I said “mask†and “normal†in the same sentence and it didn’t seem weird?
Okay, THAT’s weird!!!
Today in my Intermediate Wheelthrowing class we tackled throwing taller… vase, bottle, whatever. It was all about getting the clay to move up off the bottom, getting it out of the bottom corners and move it up the sides to make taller pieces.
After a demo with a few quick tips & tricks, they were well on their way. I gave them a challenge of at least 9-inches tall with two pounds of clay. Everyone who tried it made it… and some were just a bit giddy!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! August 29th & 30th, 2020.
Just four weeks away we’re hosting another ART IN THE GARDEN!!!
The garden is twice as large this year so there’s plenty of room for social-distancing & safe shopping! It’s one of only two outdoor art fairs that I’m able to do this year… so please keep it safe, wash your hands and you MUST wear a mask!!!
It’s one of the most fun art fairs as several of us like to do one-of-a-kind collaboration projects to “reveal” at the show. You can see many of us making things in our studios to get ready… and maybe get a glimpse of a collaboration or two if you look close. Check out the list of my talented friends in the Comments and follow them all on social media.
Click here to follow ART IN THE GARDEN on Facebook… as more details, picture s& information will start to appear over the next few weeks!
Ten cylinders now have handles… making that ten fresh new mugs!!!
These are the same ones from my Tuesday night class challenge with Ashley… finished just in time for my Saturday morning class… with minutes to spare…
