After playing at Morgan Farm, Chris & I got back on our bikes and pedaled our way up to the Chicago Botanic Garden, Where we were greeted by hoards of butterflies all over the place… both Painted Ladies & Monarchs! They were swarming a large sage-salvia plant, just in case you were wondering.
While we were at the Morgan Farm, Chris was busy making a new friend!
Getting down & dirty with a fine swine!
Personally, I’ve always been a gourds over pumpkins kind of guy! So much cooler… textures, patterns, colors… go figure!
Chris and I had a wonderful bike ride yesterday along the North Branch Trail…
with a quick stop-off at the Wagner Farm in Glenview. All decked out for Fall
with plenty of pumpkins to go around!
Making more mugs, replenishing the inventory…
you know I LOVE making mugs, and I also like to kick-off my Holiday Home Show
with over a hundred mugs!!! Gotta make more…
These may just be my new favorite flower?
LOVING THE DAHLIAS!!!
Kinda glowing with color… no filter needed!!
New mugs fresh outta the kiln… well, kinda…
I just realized that I never quite posted photos out of my recent soda kiln.
Everything looked good… including this trio!
Crisp, clear and VERY CHILLY… with a crosswind that kinda made it feel like
a headwind in bot directions. Lucky me!
Good thing I threw on a couple extra layers before heading out this morning!
Here’s “THE SHIP OF TOLERANCE” by Ilya & Emilia Kabakov that has been “docked” down on Navy Pier for the past month or so as part of EXPO Chicago. A wonderful art installation that utilizes a sail hand-painted by local schoolkids to highlight tolerance & inclusiveness. A wonderful concept for the kids to discuss & embrace. Sadly, today is the final day of the Ship’s tour of Chicago… as it will now sail off to its next destination.
