Love seeing my pottery in use… even if it is the bathroom! Everyone has one, so why not make it look nice?! A beautiful slab of granite needs some nice pottery to accent the sink! Thanks Nancy for sharing!
So, those wedged balls of terra cotta have been thrown into cylinders.
Just the “base” for a Halloween Ghoul still to come… so now it’s time for some
handbuilding, stylizing, carving, creepifying, and ghoulitizing!
A huge thanks to everyone who came to ART IN THE GARDEN this past weekend…
but now my focus shifts to ART IN THE BARN!!!
Just over a week away and I have a lot of Halloween Ghouls to make.
Gotta start somewhere…
Another beautiful morning. So quiet & relaxing….
now if they could just finish all of the construction where they tore out
the bike path pavement weeks ago!!!
Tonight is the first night of a new session of pottery classes at Lillstreet Art Center. And my class will be kickin’ it off with a bit of international flair!!! Some unique OREO flavors imported from France by my friend Tracy. New flavours?… OUI, OUI. Merci beaucoup Tracy!
While 9/11 will forever go down as one of the most tragic days in history, there is another landmark historical event that happened on 9/11. Fifty-seven years ago today “BOZO CIRCUS” debuted on WGN in Chicago! While I was not even born then, I did get my chance several years later to attend a couple of tapings live in the WGN Studio. I even got to play the group game at the end of the show! My partner and I had to stack cup-saucer-cup-saucer-cup-saucer as high as we could on the end of a baseball bat. WE WON!!! And our prize was the Scooby-Doo 3D ViewMaster Slide Projector!!! Sure wish I still had THAT one!!!
Seventeen years ago today. One of the most tragic moments in American history.
A day that will forever be burned in our hearts & minds… September 11, 2001.
After two days of crazy winds & amazing waves crashing around,
today was surprisingly calm & serene. What a difference a day makes!
Still windy, still crazy waves and still red flag warnings!!!
Another crazy bike ride along the lakefront. Waves crashing up over the edge, onto the bike trail. Impassable in many sections. Frequently getting sprayed by the waves… and drying off the camera lens in between shots. Not a lot of color in the sky… but PLENTY of excitement along the shoreline! Especially towards the end when the sun beams were hitting the crashing waves lighting them up to a glittering gold.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to my buddies Chris, Nancy & Rose who just crossed the Finish Line of IRONMAN MADISON!!! It was the first full IM for Nancy & Rose, and the second for Chris! All three of these ladies rocked it today! I just wish I could have been up there to cheer them on!!! But duty called… and I had a great weekend at ART IN THE GARDEN. Some of us had to work… while others got to workout!!
WAY TO GO TEAM CHILLY!!!
Pay no attention to that man in the crazy pink shirt… she’s IN FRONT of him!!!
Shortly behind was Chris…
And then it was Rose’s turn to cross the Finish Line…
Again, HUGE CONGRATS to all three of these amazing friends! They did an amazing job completing the 140.6 ile course…and still all smiles!!!
