As part of our last pottery class, my students were challenged to make a plate for our class White Elephant type trading-stealing game. After a lot of fun & trading, I came home with this porcelain beauty made by my teaching assistant Susan Slogoff. Using liquid latex & black underglaze for her stunning surface design.

Last night in my pottery class, my students rocked one of the best potlucks ever for the last class of their session. Korean wings, homemade sushi, tandoori chicken, stuffed dates, charcuterie plates, fruit pies, ice cream and so much more!

But let us not forget the new flavor of OREOs that I also brought in
to push us over the top!!!

Matching up lots of sets of salt & pepper shakers! All textured. All soda-fired.
They’re code-lettered and banded together for convenience…
and who doesn’t LOVE orange rubber bands?!

Another fully stamped platter fresh out of the kiln. Cone six glazed with a new honey amber glaze that I recently mixed up. I’m loving how it is breaking & pooling all of the right places!

Weren’t we all told as a child to “not play with your food”???
Well, my friend Allison has been playing with her food on top of one of my textured tile trivets.
And boy am I glad she is… too much fun!!!

After last night’s first frost & dusting of snow, our trees were quick to loose their leaves. Creating beautiful carpets of color under every tree. Some beautiful mixed medleys, while others created a stunning ombre blended sidewalk.

Woke up this morning with the first dusting of snow in Chicago.
With a forecast of more to come. I’m SO not ready for this!!!
