My donation vases are all packed up for the ArtReach Fundraiser. I had hoped for a couple more, but they didn’t quite make it into the last soda kiln. So seven porcelain vases it is!!! All for a good cause… and more art for the kids!!!

After the weekend rain passed through, the lake was “fuller” than normal.
A couple beaches were flooded… and even some construction fencing had been wiped out
by the waves! Not a great sunrise, but a fun sky show with all of the clouds!
Just as a point of reference… this is usually a beach, and NOT a pond!!!
And this is the lake… fuller & choppier than normal!
Sure, clouded over…not much of a sunrise. Only a sliver. I thought we were done.
And then THIS happened… back at the start…
back at the flooded “pond” with a boardwalk that no goes nowhere!

Dramatic sky show this morning with lots of clouds blowing through
and waves crashing all around. Big clouds, big colors… BIG FUN!!!
And yes, this is the “scaled-down” edited collection of photos from this morning.
After the ride, I downloaded the photos from my camera and was kind of surprised when I found out that I had taken 137 photos this morning!!! You know how hard it is to edit down that far?!!! It was killing me… each sunrise shot better than the next! I’m pretty proud of myself for getting it down this far.

The videographer behind some of our favorite time lapse videos showcasing Chicago’s seasons and skyline is back with another one: Max Wilson recently released a new time lapse focused on the city’s nighttime lights—including some epic fireworks shots.
The video, “Windy City Nights III,” shows off Chicago’s downtown skyline, fireworks over the lake, Michigan Avenue and more. As Wilson wrote of the video on Vimeo, the video included five years-worth of work, with a combination of favorite shots from past projects and newer, more recent shots.
“It’s a culmination of photography work in Chicago at night for the past 5 years,” he wrote. “My focus has always been on the city skyline and the architecture of the buildings. I really enjoy night time photography because it lends itself well to the timelapse technique. With all the movement and lights at night, it really is something special. You can really see the pulse of Chicago at night.”

Incredibly clear blue skies today. That is until the clouds rolled in late this afternoon. I kinda expected to see a line with little triangles along the edge of this cloud front like you see on TV weather forecasts!
