A cloudy start to a warm day in Chicago. Unfortunately, the battle between clouds & sun didn’t play out so well… with the clouds “winning” by not allowing the sun to break through with a splash of color.

Three little lidded boxes that I glazed for the soda kiln… whoops, what, no lids?! Guess I might “need” someone else to make a lid for these? I think I sense another fun collaboration in the making here. More to come…

An amazing show of morning color for a few brief moments today.
Very few. Very brief… before we were plunged right back into cloudy grayness!

Fun with circles. Concentric. Spiral. Rings.
Some in porcelain, some in soda clay.
People keep “guessing” that some of my pieces might be trivets.
Just to set the record straight… these are in fact going to be trivets!!!
Actual, legitimate hot-plate trivets!!!

Spring is in the air. I can feel it. At least for today…
as it’s supposed to get down into the 20’s overnight tonight!

Okay, so maybe not quite so bright & vibrant, but then again neither is today’s weather!
Happy Spring… kinda.

And to celebrate the first day of Spring, looks like most non-mall Dairy Queens will be giving way free vanilla ice cream cones today!!! All day… and did I mention FREE?!!!!

While today is “officially” the first day of Spring… it’s cold, gloomy & gray here in Chicago.
Still waiting for the sun, warmth & flowers to make their way here.

I’d didn’t actually “make” a lot of things in the studio today.
Instead I got swallowed into a vortex that included color-coded tapes
