And for those not quite up-to-speed on Dia de los Muertos… here’s a very cute video. Beautiful, touching & well-spirited. And by “spirited”… I mean bones, skeletons & spirits!!!

In just three minutes, this charming student-animated and directed short film captures the spirit, vibrancy and vivacity of Día de los Muertos.

Though Day of the Dead has come to be associated with Halloween, ghosts, and trendy calaveras, the holiday doesn’t have dark roots, and Mexicans celebrate it like a true fiesta, with music, drinks and delicious snacks. Día de los Muertos is, after all, the one time of the year you can talk and visit with your dead loves ones — as the adorable niña in this short film learns during her celebration.
