Gary Jackson: Fire When Ready Pottery
A Chicago potter’s somewhat slanted view of clay & play
Categories: bike, sunrise

A dark & uneventful start to the morning…

The wind was blowing fast this morning, but the sunrise was slow.
Just s few clouds early on building to a grand crescendo.

Layers of silhouetted clouds on the golden sky.
Followed by beautiful sunbeams streaming through.

I’m a transplanted Chicagoan now loving in Athens, GA and your photos are killing me! Is that your view, or do you bike to the lake to photograph these beautiful sunrises? Wish I had known about you before I moved here. Potter Erica Galloway told me about you and your work. Beautiful pieces. I’m new to potting so taking it all in. Would love to stop by next time I’m back in Chicago for a visit. Hope you have really successful holiday sales!

KATHLEEN – I ride my bike to the lakefront for the morning sunrise photos. I live a few blocks from the northern starting point of the lakefront bike trial. So I pedal over and ride down to Navy Pier & back most mornings. It’s the best way to start the day!!! Fresh air, good exercise and incredible sunrises along the way!!! Glad you’ve started playing in the mud. Have a great time – and by all means, stop by whenever you’re back in Chicago!!!
