Gary Jackson: Fire When Ready Pottery
A Chicago potter’s somewhat slanted view of clay & play

One of my students was playing on YouTube and ran across this pottery video.

It’s kind of long… about an hour and 19 minutes.
But if you jump to about the 1:03 mark that’s when “the magic” begins!!!
And by “magic” I mean a crazy reference about ME!!!

Apparently this whole blogging, Facebooking, YouTubing and more has made me “a little famous” in Santa Clara, California?! The instructor in the video makes a specific reference of me and my “oodles & oodles of stamping.” Kinda cool, huh?!

It’s amazing how one simple tree in just the right place can make all the difference.
It might just be the new favorite???… and trust me, I narrowed it down as far as I could!!!

This morning was beautiful. Crisp & clear with less humidity than normal.
Not many clouds in the sky… but the ones that were there sure did what they needed to do!

My cousin Kim has been out working in her garden again!
And this time she’s over-flowing one of my berry bowls with her bountiful harvest!
Thanks for sharing the photo Kim… now can we “share” the veggies too?

Okay so I just purchased two more mugs for The Mug Collection. Sue me.
Yes, I have a “collection” of mugs that have never been used.
Yes, they’re all labeled with the artists names.
Yes, they’re all on some shelves in my kitchen.
And yes… THE SHELVES ARE OVERFLOWING!!!

I definitely need to get more shelves and expand the display space for my ever-growing
Mug Collection. But I just couldn’t resist two more mugs by Julia Galloway!!!

I got an early start on my celebrating this morning…
let’s just call them the Breakfast of Champions!

WHOO-HOO!!! We’ve just passed another Facebook milestone. And I still remember when I didn’t think I needed to be on Facebook because I had nothing worthwhile to share. Apparently I was wrong. Thanks to everyone who continues to follow my pottery adventures, visual explorations, and just “a few” biking sunrises along the way! Remember, you may not get all of the posts in your News Feed, so check back and read the full Fire When Ready Pottery Facebook page every now & again. And remember to “share” with your friends… I think we should shoot for 3,000 by the end of the year! Thanks again.

And oh, but wait there’s more… you can also do a “search” for Fire When Ready Pottery on Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube. You can find me & follow me pretty much everywhere! Have fun!!!

With a little bit of fog early this morning, the Chicago skyline looked pretty amazing as it reflected in the lake. Good thing… it was the closest we got to a sunrise of any sort this morning. Dark & cloudy. Okay sure, if I didn’t start out so early it wouldn’t be quite so dark, right?!

I spent a lot of my Saturday stamping… including a new batch of cylinders that are well on their way to becoming mugs. My favorite thing to make!!!
