It was recently announced that Cirque du Soleil will be returning to Chicago this summer… after a four year absence! They will be bringing their newest traveling show “KURIOS” to the parking lot of the United Center. The performances begin under Le Grand Chapiteau on August 6th and continue through the second week of September. If you’ve never seen a live Cirque du Soleil show, you don’t know what you’re missing… possibly the most visually stunning & magical experience you’ll ever see under a big blue & yellow tent!

Another batch thrown… okay, actually 15, not 12 – but who’s counting?
Now waiting to stamp, trim, slip accent and finish off with a little handbuilding piece for each. Hopefully, a “new” form for Spring flowers if all goes as planned?!

And speaking of colored slips…
one of mine was too close to the same color as my clay. I “tinted” it with some food coloring so it would be a lot easier to see as I was painting it on. The food coloring will “disappear” during the firing process… leaving the colored slip exactly where I want it.

Of course my slip is NOT quite this colorful. I kinda wish it was…
But the photo shows it in mid-mixing. And I unfortunately did not remember to take
an “after” photo of the final tinted slip.                     My bad.

Tonight I finally got around to finishing up some wall pocket vases.
Trimmed, stamped and accented with some colored slip.

Such a fun weekend decorating eggs with my cousins this weekend.
We dipped, we dyed, we decorated. Some were masterpieces…
while others were great memory makers!

While many of you went to “Mass” this past weekend…
I prefer mine to be a beautiful sunrise cloud mass!!! And this morning truly delivered
with one large cloud creating colorful drama across the sky!

All too soon, the sun went behind the cloud mass. More gray. More clouds… less color.
mwah, mwah, mwah…

A bit further down the road…
the sun seemed to find a small hole in the clouds for a brief “second showing”.

Especially to those artists out there who know why these eggs are so much fun!!!
