Another good reason to come over to my place today for Day Two of my Holiday Home Show?… you can see the wall I covered with my little textured tiles. Touch it, love it, rub up against it, fondle it, whatever. Just 2,894 textured tiles on the wall… not that I’ve counted. Okay, maybe I have…

I love your work, I would like to make cabinet knobs/pulls for my kitchen similar to your tiles. I am not sure just how to go about make the back to insert the screws. I have never tried anything like this before, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

HEY JANET –
I made some kitchen cabinet door pulls for an HGTV episode.
You can go back to my blog post to see what I did, get a
little tutorial, and a sneak peek of the finished
kitchen renovation.

I used a two-part anchor system that I 2-part-epoxyed into the hole on the back side of each pull. I don’t recall what they were called, but I think if you went to a good hardware store and explain what you’re doing, they can point you in the right direction. The threaded casing goes into the knob, and the screw goes through the cabinet door and into you knob. You need to make sure the length of the screw is correct.

Good luck Janet.
