Tonight I trimmed all of the stamped berry bowls, but they were a bit too wet to drill the drainage holes. I tried one. It didn’t go so well. So instead, I threw all of the small plates that will go with them. Hoping to drill holes & trim the plates tomorrow night!

Hi, stumbled on your blog – I like your work very much, similar in concept to some of mine but a higher standard (honest observation, not idle flattery). Out of interest – what are your batts made of? Mine are marine ply, but they are far from ideal for flatware.

PETER – Thanks for the observation AND the idle flattery – I’ll take both!!! My bats are plastic. I use them for everything! I love the square ones for most of my pieces, especially because they use up less space on my table. But I do have two sizes of larger round ones for bowls & platters. You can find them at most ceramic supply stores. Here’s a quick link to just one source… http://www.axner.com/speedball-plastic-bats.aspx
