While replenishing the shelves for this Saturday’s Holiday Home Show, I was excited
when I saw the sun shining through the window and hitting this temoku glazed platter
in just the right way! Streaks of sunshine mixed with streaks of shadows. Perfection.

After yesterday’s surprisingly warm weather, I was kind of surprised
by the early morning chill in the air. Still warmer than most December days..
and I’ll take it.

And I especially loved it when the sun came up to just the right place and lit up the clouds
with a little sparkly splendor!

Here’s a little more of a “sneak peek” at Amy Taylor’s wonderful work.
Keep in mind that practically everything has a hinge in it to give an extra swivel.
Even better – she’s coming to my home this Saturday with all of her lovelies this
Saturday, December 8th for “Mud & Metal : A Collaborative Holiday Show.”

So plan on stopping by my place this Saturday from 10:00am-6:00pm to stock up,
do a little Christmas shopping, hang out, and tackle that holiday gift list! We’ve got
a lot of wonderful gift ideas in every room of my home. C’mon by this Saturday!

Not the most beautiful of mornings. Dark, gray & gloomy… and unseasonably warm.
But it is December. Which means I have now ridden my bike during every month of 2012.
Yeah me!

Day One from the “Les Miserables” Advent Calendar!!!

1. When Eponine comes in with “he was never mine to lose” in “A Heart Full Of Love”.
Mmmmmbest. ( It comes later than you think. Fourth verse.)

2. We have to assume someone is organizing an unofficial-but-come-on-sing-along-screening.
This sounds like fun.

3. Possible uptick in babies named “Enroljas.”

4. Wolverine is going to sing “Bring Him Home.”

5. Being able to call every weird trash heap of discarded and presumably bed-buggy
furniture a “barricade.”

6.  The end of having to hear about Anne Hathaway’s diets.

7. Helena Bonham Carter’s side-eye. Helena Bonham Carter’s everything, really.

8. It will suddenly be okay for a few weeks to reenact important scenes from Les Miz at a bar.

9. Anything that references the spinning stage.

10. Russell Crowe’s inevitable jaunty hat line – a tri-corner in every color!!!

11. The movie version of “One Day More” making its way around YouTube, so we can send it
to people the night before important events (weddings, trips, etc.). Not that we don’t do this
with the tenth-anniversary version, but you know, options!!!

12. The confusion that will sweep over the theater when the new song plays.

13. Sasha Baron Cohen’s cockney accent.

14. Seth MacFarlane singing “Confrontation” at the Oscars in voices…
Brian as Valjean, Stewie sas Javert.

15. People going as Javert for Halloween next year, and then being confused
for Capt’n Crunch.

16. Sitcoms making Les Miz jokes in two or three months. We’re looking at you, New Girl.

17. Taylor Swift’s inevitable revenge cover of “On My Own,” with the words changed
to shame Samantha Barks.

18. Measuring time in “Les Mizes.” Set your crock pot for two “Les Mizes”
and you’ll have the best chili in the world.

19. Changing all our passwords to 24601. Just kidding… we didn’t do that;
please don’t try to hack into our e-mail.

20. A guaranteed two hours without anyone talking about The Hobbit.

Another week to wait.

I can’t believe it’s just a few days away… and a few felt ornaments!!!

One down, twenty-three to go…

As part of the Holiday Opening Party last night at Lillstreet Art Center,
they also had an open Art Fair on the third floor with a lot of students & friends
selling their wares. Obviously, I had to add to my crazy-cool Terry Hogan collection
of pierced porcelain! You know I’m a sucker for repetitive patterns & textures!

As if the her pierced “pods” weren’t cute enough… now she’s making Christmas ornaments
which are equally cool. I couldn’t decide… so I had to get all three! Each cooler than the next!

And a tw0-sided mitten… I think I like the snowflake side the best?

And a precisely pierced porcelain precious perky pup… priceless!!!
