hey. how do you make these ornaments?
NICOLE – These ornaments are thrown on the wheel as you see them on the blog post. I throw them off-the-hump. They’re basically a small cylinder collared in to close it up, and then detailed with grooves & bands. When they are leatherhard, I’ll trim the bottoms, flip them over, add a hand-built topper. Maybe add some colored slip accents. The last step is to fire them in the soda kiln.
