Hi. All of your work (and Amy’s) is so inspiring. Just beautiful. What is the tool that made the three rows of cut-outs at the top? I’ve been trying to do something to that effect, with marginal success. Thanks!

HEY NANCY – So glad you’ve been “inspired”.. and I hope I can help. The tool that Amy used to make the rows of cut-outs is a simple loop trimming tool. We “squished” a regular one with a pair of pliers to make it a little skinnier. I think the real trick is to go at it with a very deliberate hand, and not be timid with your marks. If you look closely at the blue bowl, the cut-outs have a second cut-out line inside of each mark. She goes back for a second round with a sgraffito loop tool. Hope that helps. Good luck with your carvings!!!
