A Chicago potter’s somewhat slanted view of clay & play

Well, after yesterday’s storms, the clouds were still hanging out and the winds were quite strong. I was at camp and in the studio ALL day yesterday… apparently the storm was worse than I thought?!

A little cloudy & hazy this morning. I couldn’t decide if the sun was ever going to make it through… and it finally did.

So I must admit that this morning was pretty dreary. I had really low expectations as I started out with gray, foggy, overcast skies. In my head, I figured I would “just bike” and never see a sunrise photo moment today. And then THIS happened!!!

Big sky show with rippled reflections across the lakefront.

Another warm & tranquil morning. Sunrise reflections on the rippled water. Beautiful clouds playing with the sun changing colors along the way.

Sweeping skies & colorful clouds make for a beautiful panoramic shot
of the lakefront and the Chicago Skyline… and my bike!

After a weekend of rough water & choppy waves, it was a pleasant change to be back to calm waters & reflecting tranquility along the lakefront this morning.

A beautiful morning with a low layer of clouds drifting along the horizon. Just enough for the sun to play with… yet not enough to cover the sky. Looks like it’s going to be another perfect July day!

Crisp & clear with a LOT of wind blowing in from the Lake.
And with that wind comes a lot of waves crashing along the shoreline.
Okay, so I “may” have gotten splashed a couple times… but it was well worth it.

More clouds than sun this morning… more wind too!!! Most would have rolled over & gone back to sleep. But they would have missed the cool waves crashing all around… including up & over the bike trail at the S-curve of Lake Shore Drive. And yes, for the record, I pedaled through and my shoes got soaked. It’s just water, right???
