My Talented Friend & metalsmith Amy Taylor will be joining us tonight & tomorrow at THE COZY COTTAGE POP-UP. We’re going to be hanging out at Mary Foster’s place with a bunch of our work this weekend and would love to see you. Amy’s work is beautifully designed & well-crafted… with actual “hinges” in all the right places for extra movement & extra fun!!!

The kick-off of THE COZY COTTAGE POP-UP. A fun get-together with some of My Talented Friends… in Mary Foster’s cozy cottage! It will be a fun weekend pop-up and we hope you can swing by! And there “just might be” a fun little gift bag with art & yummies for the first twenty-four people!

And it looks like it’s not just me doing a collaboration with the talented Mary Foster… as metalsmith Amy Taylor has been working on some colorful collaboration pieces with Mary as well. Like this beautiful lady bug brooch… or the morning glory one in the background. All of the one-of-a kind collaborations will be “revealed” Friday night at THE COZY COTTAGE POP-UP… which continues all day Saturday as well. We hope that you might be able to stop by to see some fun artwork by some of My Talented Friends!

And another big congratulations to “My Talented Friend”… and art fair booth neighbor… amazing metalsmith Amy Taylor who received an “Award Of Excellence” ribbon this weekend at the Glenview Summer Art Fair.

Not only will Amy be with us at ART IN THE GARDEN… she’s also the host… as we’ll all be setting up our grassroots art fair event once again in her backyard garden on September 11th & 12th. Mark your calendars!

And yes, Tom will be there too & up to his usual antics!!!

One of the highlights of ART IN THE GARDEN is that the artists get to play together & collaborate on some cool projects. One of collaborations this year was this batch of porcelain soda-fired jars that I made and other artists added their own “artist-styled” knobs to the tops

Well, a couple weeks have gone by since ART IN THE GARDEN, and I’ve been sitting here with a few of the collaboration jars waiting to be photographed & posted here online for sale. I’ve been playing hooky a bit too much lately while it’s been so nice outside… but the clouds have come over Chicago so I finally got my act together today! Here are a few “teaser” photos of the nine collaboration jars that will go up for sale only on my Fire When Ready Pottery Facebook page at 6:00pm CST. It will be first come, first served when the “official” Photo Album is posted. So set an alarm reminder to check them out at 6:00pm tonight!

Another glimpse into some of the collaborations we’ve been working on for this weekend. Months ago I soda-fired some porcelain lidded jars and then “challenged” some of my fellow ART IN THE GARDEN artists to add a knob to the lid. Here’s what metalsmith Amy Taylor did with the three jars I sent her. A beautiful addition to my pottery.

Collaboration projects like these are part of what makes ART IN THE GARDEN so special.
