Even more textured fun for TEXTURE TUESDAY! You know I love pattern, texture & color… and how perfectly the soda-firing process works to make it all come together!!!
Celebrating another TEXTURE TUESDAY with some beautiful textures fresh out of the soda kiln! These are just a few of the surfaces created with my hand rollers from MKM Pottery Tools. Along with a bit of colored flashing slips, some glaze accents & the beauty of the soda kiln all coming together to make some great surfaces! More to come…
Just a couple more hybrid mugs… showing off some bright colors from the soda kiln. See, not all soda-fired pots need to be brown or gray!!! And I love how the soda atmospheric firing totally touches & highlights the patterns & textures made by some of my MKM Pottery Tools hand rollers!
Fresh from the soda kiln in time for another MUGSHOT MONDAY!
These hybrid mugs got some great colors & flashing marks. Most of these hybrid mugs are slated for a special commission, with the rest going to “4×4 : FOUR MAKERS” this coming weekend.
If you can’t make it to the 4×4 show… I’m sure I’ll be making a few more batches of my hybrid mugs for upcoming shows & art fairs!!!
Working on something a little newer & a little bigger… playing with textures again! Looking forward & hoping that these are done & fired before “4×4 : FOUR MAKERS”… my next gallery art show the first weekend of March in Evanston, Illinois. More details to come… and more photos if this “plan” works out?!
Bottoms trimmed… one step closer to becoming “hybrid mugs”!
We just need to add some handles tomorrow!
Taking my textured slabs & turning them into another batch of my “hybrid mugs.” Adding a little handbuilding to the wheelthrown bases. Always fun to play with patterns & textures… made so much easier with textured hand rollers from MKM Pottery Tools.
Got a handful of new rollers from MKM Pottery Tools …
making some groovy new textures… making some more hybrid mugs!!!
A beautiful brick path… a wonderful collection made & installed over the years.
And perfect for another TEXTURE TUESDAY!
Thanks for sharing your bricks & your textures Gerry!
