The newest pumpkin harvest is coming together nicely… with happy faces smiling back at me! Hoping to get them all painted, glazed & fired before next weekend’s ART IN THE BARN!

Starting out the morning with clean reclaim buckets… as Nate volunteered to press all of the dried reclaim terra cotta through the grate on top… as intended. I love when my Summer Campers just start volunteering to do projects around the studio making it a better place for everyone. As though they’re part of the community. Taking one for the team. Now if we could just get some more of the adult students to follow Nate’s lead… wouldn’t THAT be great?!

Today was the final day of my week-long SCULPTURE CAMP. My campers were great, and worked so hard all week… okay, so there may have been a few “diversions” along the way… but all in all they did a great job! Their terra cotta birdhouses came out of the kiln just in time for today’s Gallery Show… and they looked AMAZING!!!

So their terra cotta birdhouses are all glazed… and my Summer Campers now need to wait patiently to see how they look when they come out of the kiln on Friday!!!

Yesterday my Summer Campers painted their sculptural birdhouses with colorful glazes. Adding layers of low-fire glazes… adding whimsical colors, textures & details!

This week in Summer Camp, I have an other group of creative kids for another SCULPTURE CAMP. We started the week with a clay project… making some sculptural bird houses! Lots of scoring & slipping… lots of dirty fingers!!!

This week my Summer Camp is SCULPTURE CAMP!!!
On Monday my campers made handbuilt flower pots & water drip trays with sculptural accents. I have slightly younger kids this week… 8-9-10 years old! They glazed their terra cotta pieces yesterday… as they were preparing to start their BIG sculptures when these are finished!

The last of the walking dead… Every year I make a Limited Edition of 40 of a new character to add to The Ghouls Collection. Many people have collected the full series over the years… while others have chosen just their favorites. Well here’s a quick heads-up… THIS is the very last of the Zombies!!!
