Sure, it may be freezing cold outside… but the sunset was pretty impressive tonight from inside! I was working at the “glitter gig” and saw this happening outside the window. It was fun to watch the colors change from the warmth of inside. Sure, I wish those crazy phone lines weren’t in the picture… but sometimes that’s the price you pay for living & working in the city.
Luckily for me, and my morning bike rides… the sunrise view is unobstructed over the Lake.
No power lines in my morning sunrise!
Double-whammy…
My bike wheels are in the shop being realigned.
And I’m working everyday this week at Navy Pier setting up Winter WonderFest
so I don’t have as much time in the morning for my sunrise bike ride.
Doesn’t mean I need to miss the sunrise though…
Sunrise today over Lake Michigan on my way to Navy Pier on Lake Shore Drive.
Sunset today looking back at the Chicago skyline as I was leaving Navy Pier.
Beautiful… both coming AND going!
After a hundred miles of pedaling on today’s Harmon Hundred, I went to my Dad’s birthday dinner with the family. From the restaurant and back to their house for cake, I was treated to a beautiful sunset through the window of my car. The day’s ride was pretty much gray & gloomy. This was a nice ending to another beautiful day. Riding with friends. Birthdays with family... and lots of birthday cake!!!
While going from one job to the next… rushing from one place to another…
trying to fit in everything I had to do… making sure I would get to see my friends
before heading over to Lillstreet for the Holiday Opening Party… it was great
to squeeze in a little bit of quiet time… even if it was just for five minutes!!!
Okay, so I’m sure you’ve figured out by now that I don’t get a lot of sunsets.
Generally, I find that all of the buildings, posts & wires kind of get in the way
of a good sunset photo. Well, the crazy weather coming off of Hurricane Sandy
gave us a really incredible sunset tonight. The colors were so incredible…
especially the “layered” effects. So I had to make an exception… and found that
with a little extra effort, you can get a pretty good sunset picture from the
third floor of Lillstreet Art Center. Who knew?!
