Well, it’s been over four months since THE GREAT AMERICAN BAKING SHOW started streaming for free on TheRokuChannel.com… and it seems like that’s been long enough. Just to refresh your memories… Martin, one of my pottery students, was one of the baking contestants!!! Tomorrow I will “reveal” the final results of the show! So be prepared… and don’t read the posts tomorrow if you want to be surprised. But seriously, you’ve had over four months to watch the show!

Hard to believe that we’re just three weeks away from ART IN THE GARDEN in Glenview. One of my favorite art fairs of the summer… a fun grassroots event with a group of My Talented Friends! One of the best parts about this art fair is that several of us work on one-of-a-kind collaboration pieces just for this show! I’ve got a few in the works already… now I’ve got to get them all done in time!!! So mark your calendar now… Saturday, September 9th & Sunday, September 10th.

But last week… in my Tuesday class we “celebrated” our ongoing quest for OREOs with a package imported all the way from PORTUGAL!!! Thanks to my friend Pam who “smuggled” them back for us! Sure, I can’t read the labels in Portuguese… but I’m pretty sure it says “it lots, eat often”!!!

It may be just another typical MUGSHOT MONDAY… but it doesn’t look too typical for Allyn! Sure, she may be holding her favorite mug… but it looks like she might have something else to show-off today… a new bit of BLING on her finger!!!

Looks like Martin… my pottery student & favorite reality show baker… has been busy in his kitchen again! This time with HOMEMADE strawberry OREOs on top of my handmade cake plate!!! Now he’s just showing off…

In case you’ve forgotten… Martin was one of the competitors on THE GREAT AMERICAN BAKING SHOW. Same as The Great British Bake-Off but with contestants from The States… same tent, same judges, etc. And you can still stream all six episodes for FREE on The Roku Channel… no box needed. After today’s art fair in Hinsdale, I had a nice dinner with my booth neighbor Rhonda. She contacted me on Friday and suggested we do dinner after the show… and went on to suggest we go to Jade Dragon for Chinese food. She knew that for years I would go there with my Mom & Dad after the show on Saturdays. She thought it would be a nice way to honor my Mom… and I got warm fuzzies! And then tonight we ordered all of the same foods that my Mom would have ordered. Such a nice evening with my very thoughtful friend Rhonda!
