Getting my sparkle on! Who knew that glitter came as a spray paint… thank you Rust-O-Leum!!! It’s the first time I’ve every spray painted pottery… let alone glittered either. All for a good cause… and a good PRIZE!!!
Always a fun explosion of color & texture.
A splash of Witch Hazel is always welcome after a long dark & drab Winter.
Adding some colored flashing slips to help accent my berry bowls prior to bisque firing. If all goes as planned, these slip colors will become more vibrant and show some flashing effects after soda-firing.
Last night I went to the Opening Reception for PRISMATICA… the latest art installation at Navy Pier. Large colorful prisms that illuminate and make tinkling sounds as they rotate. The dichroic finish creates ever-changing colors that splash across the park. A bright spot on a long & dreary Winters day.
Classic beauties in reds & pinks on Valentine’s Day!
Special thanks to all of my loyal fans & followers… you light up my life!Â
See what I did there?…
On my way home this morning, I happened to pedal past this great bricolage mural on Thorndale near the lake. I love when “everyday” city spaces like fences & walls become works of art… hosting a wonderful message of art, creativity and diversity for the neighborhood.
Another great way to brighten up an otherwise dreary day is with some of the fantastic kid’s art murals hanging on the walls at Lillstreet.
So much color.
So much uninhibited creativity.
So much fun.
A great contrast to the grayness outside!
Dear Santa,
I know we’re less than a week away, but I just saw this today…
and I need to add it to my Wish List.
Remember how much I loved Lite-Brites when I was a kid?…
well this is even better!!! It’s the same thing, but oversized for bigger kids!!!
Like me!
And if one Sants’s Helpers needs to know where to get more information…

Here are some of the beauties that were in Monday night’s cone six glaze kiln.
Just replenishing the shelves a bit for Saturday’s Second Holiday Home Show!
Plenty of plates & platters just in time for the holidays for sharing with your family & friends!
Okay, so this also shows that I might “need to” expand my cone six color palette.
Anyone have a good cone 6 glaze recipe to share?
Hopefully a nicely saturated color glaze that pools & breaks in all the right places!!! Thanks.
Oh yeah, and the one with the big crack from my bad trimming…
and the one that I accidentally dropped a kiln post on top of.
Yep, it was stuck to the bottom of a shelf as I lifted it out… and it popped off… CRACK!!!
