While cruising through Frankfurt’s museum row, I had to take some time out to go through their Art Museum… filled with a lot of German artists (go figure) and a few stand-out favorites. I loved being introduced to the paintings of Lotte Laserstein… as well as Ferdinand Hodler, Karl Von Piddol, Franz Xaver Winterhalter and a “fresh new” Monet painting BEFORE the Claude Monet style we all have come to know & love!

“Don’t lose your old self
thin 2D wire sculpture flying high from a power line on Damen & North in Bucktown.
So much better than the sadly more typical pair of hanging shoes!

While taking down my Christmas tree, I found this sweet little ornament that came as a gift this year from Alabama. It was such a hectic time of year, it was great to “find it again” to enjoy the textures & sweet simplicity! Thanks Donnalee… you’re an ANGEL!!!

Here’s a quick peek of the Christmas gift I bought myself a couple weeks back.
I’ve been following Matt Wilson of Airtight Artwork on Instagram for awhile now.
Completely enamored by his ability to create precise bird sculptures out of everyday silverware!!!
Each bird has it’s own personality & attitude. And when his last “flock” was released on Etsy,
I just had to go for it… Merry Christmas to ME!!!

Wonderful colors & energy racing across the bricks! Another wonderful graffiti mural by Hebru Brantley… this one fittingly on the side of the Nike Store in Bucktown.

Just one hour left for this year’s ONE OF A KIND SHOW. Plenty of time to swing by Booth #2118 to see my friend Sarah Chapman’s beautiful jewelry & metal wall pieces like this one!

Going down to the Merchandise Mart again today to hang out with my metalsmith friend Sarah Chapman in Booth #2118. C’mon down for the last day of the ONE OF A KIND SHOW. And you’ll see beauties like these necklaces by Sarah… with stacked freshwater pearls & citrine beads, or vintage faceted cherry amber!

Beautiful metal wall pieces by another Lillstreet Studio member Abi Gonzales.
She’s having an Opening Reception tonight from 6:00-9:00 at the Lillstreet Annex Gallery.
C’mon by!!!

Never too busy for a bit of art… especially when you can play hooky at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Enjoyed the Alexander Calder & Jeff Koons exhibit… and possibly the coolest staircase in Chicago!
