Cloudy, breezy & quite humid. Not the best “sunrise” bike ride…
but still a great bike ride… and still a great way to start my day!

After getting some “real tools” from my studio, my Summer Campers put their hands to work making some incredible terra cotta planters on Monday… glazing them on Tuesday. I have a small group of kids this week, but they’re still kickin’ it out of the park!!!

Okay, so I knew it might be a “challenging” week of Summer Camp on Monday when I asked if they had tools pulled aside for my class to do their handbuilding projects. And all they brought me were coffee stirrers, toothpicks & plastic forks?! Really?… toothpicks??? It kinda felt like I was in an episode of “The Great Pottery Throw Down”… kid’s version!

I will admit, that out of frustration, I went down to my own studio and pulled plenty of REAL tools for my campers to use!

In sharp contrast to yesterday’s clear “orange sky” morning… today was nothing but clouds. And not necessarily the kind that turn into all kinds of crazy cool colors. More like the kind that just shroud the sun from breaking through. Either way, still the best way to start my day!

Quiet shimmers & golden-orange reflections along the lakefront this morning. A little on the humid side… but I’m always more than willing to “sweat” for another beautiful sunrise like this!
