Clouded Judgment

A little cloudy this morning…
Thought it might be a repeat of yesterday’s rainy beginning?!
when I woke up and it was pouring… roll over… back to sleep.

But not today – maybe a few drips here & there, a little drizzle
and some wet patches of bike trail where you could tell it had “just” rained!
But I trudged onwards… perhaps due to my own clouded judgment.

And it turned out to be worthwhile.
Okay, so there was no “real” sunrise to speak of… but the clouds were really cool.
both early on when I was still questioning if I was going to get poured upon…
as well as towards the end of my ride when the clouds were making my stop
at the beach a very serene moment.

A few minutes later and a little further down the road, the sun decided to make its
grand appearance on the horizon… illuminating the clouds and changing colors
from minute to minute. Each sunrise picture “painted” cooler than the next...

Very dark. Very moody. Very cool this morning along the lakefront for my sunrise ride!
Stunning both with and without my bike. I couldn’t decide – so here’s both!

This morning was beautiful with a full range of colors that started in the early morning
with rich, saturated colors… and then changed into vibrant pinks as the sun began to rise…
and then changed into wispy pastels!

Just when I thought that this morning’s sunrise couldn’t get any better…
I received these photos from Scott Carlson this evening. They’re photos of
this morning’s sunrise as seen from his condo rooftop on Chicago’s west side.
Still stunning… even with all those buildings in the way!

Anyone else up early enough and willing to share their own sunrise photos?!

Another Day. Another Ride. Another Sunrise.

This morning’s ride was beautiful ride with dramatic clouds on the horizon.
But as the sunrise gets later & later… my rides start out darker and darker…

And then finally the sun begins to break on the horizon… and the sky lights up…
and the horizon turns a beautiful shade of orange. And the clouds begin to dissipate.
Looks like it’s going to be another incredible day in Chicago!!!
