So my glaze cart is filling up nicely. Glazed & wadded… filling half of my studio cart. Now I’ll turn the cart around and fill the other side. A full cart pretty much equals a full soda kiln… give or take a few pots here & there!

Still glazing. Still working “in the dark.” Still waiting for my ceiling light to be replaced… and I kinda think I might be getting used to all of this dramatic mood lighting?! Hopefully the glaze is going on the pots where I “think” it’s going???

Might be a smidge harder to glaze “in the dark”…
but the dramatic task lighting I’ve set up sure does make for some nice contrasts
when the mugs start lining up!

Painting & filling the stamped impressions with a dark tenmoku glaze, and then wiping off the high surfaces to reveal a great contrast for the stamped design. I kinda feel like The Karate Kid… glaze on, glaze off… glaze on, glaze off.

Still no working ceiling light fixture in my studio…
so glazing “in the dark” tonight ought to be interesting, huh?!!!

Another quick bisque kiln… not my tightest packed kiln, but I’m racing towards my next soda kiln! Trying to crank out enough work to fill the kiln to get ready for my Holiday Home Show which is coming up in just over two short weeks!!! Always the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving!!!

Kiln Layer 2 – bowls, mugs & oval vases

Kiln Layer 3 – oil lamps, & mugs

Kiln Layer 4 – oil lamps & oval vases

Fire fast… cuz’ I gotta get some glazing on!!!

Another Mugshot Monday!!! And another batch of mugs…
this time in PORCELAIN!!!
I love making mugs… and when I don’t quite know what to make…
it seems like I always “default” to MUGS!!!

It was a VERY productive day in the studio. A full batch of spoon rests were thrown this morning, stamped this afternoon, “quick-dried” to leatherhard so I could trim them and add colored flashing slip accents. Done. Full batch drying overnight… and into a bisque kiln tomorrow. Plus a whole bunch of other pieces I finished today. Whew!

While many consider Sunday a “day of rest”…
today I’m calling it a “day of spoon rests”!!!

Loving the groovy shadowplay on this freshly stamped bowl…
and the studio “mood” lighting doesn’t hurt any either!
